Io Interactive is back with a smorgasbord of new Hitman content, the first since the studio went independent in June, and a new Game of the Year bundle for anyone who’s yet to experience Agent 47’s latest adventure. Best of all, the new Hitman content is just around the corner and existing fans won’t have to spend much to get their hands on the new missions.
Hitman: Game of the Year Edition will only be available digitally, but hits PS4, Xbox One and PC/Mac early next month. It’ll be $60 at launch and include all of the existing Hitman: Season One content, including the escalation contracts and other new content released post-launch. Anyone who already owns the game can instead purchase the GOTY Upgrade for $20, to receive whatever Hitman content they don’t already own.
Here’s everything in the Game of the Year edition, via Io Interactive:
Hitman: The Complete First Season
New: ‘Patient Zero’ Campaign
New: Clown Suit and themed weapon
New: Raven Suit and themed weapon
New: Cowboy Suit and themed weapon
New: 3 themed Escalation Contracts
According to the studio, Patient Zero reimagines four maps from the base campaign to create a new, four-episode narrative following Agent 47 as he races to stop a dangerous new virus from spreading across the planet. Players will return to Bangkok, Colorado, Hokkaido and Sapienza, each altered significantly from its usual look and feel. Io Interactive even asked the first season’s composer, Niels Bye Nielsen, to write new music for the new missions. The new campaign will also feature Escalation Contracts, missions that get harder as you complete objectives, built around the new costumes and weapons added.
