Horizon Forbidden West is one of the most highly anticipated titles of this year. Well, not anymore. It looks like the initial rumors were accurate. Yesterday, the developer, Guerrilla Games, announced that Forbidden West has been delayed to next year. The game was supposed to launch in Q4 of 2021, and now it will be released on February 18, 2022.
Despite the delay, the developer announced that the game’s pre-order will begin soon. Currently, the title is slated for PlayStation 4 and 5. However, if the sequel follows the example of the original game, then expect a PC port after a couple of years.
The delay was kinda expected since there were rumors that suggested it. Also, other PS exclusive games like God of War Ragnarok and Gran Turismo 7 have been delayed. The reason was for the developer to get more time to polish the game and release the best product possible. And after Cyberpunk 2077, I don’t blame them. It’s also no secret that the ongoing pandemic badly impacted the gaming industry.
There are still tons of games coming late this year, including Battlefield 2042, Halo Infinite, and Call of Duty Vanguard. So we can easily wait for a couple of more months for Forbidden West.
60 FPS Patch for Horizon Zero Dawn
Guerrilla Games are listening to you. The highly demanded feature that fans have been asking for is finally here. A 60 FPS Patch is now available on PS5, enabling Zero Dawn to run at a higher framerate. This upgrade is completely free.
Previously, the only way to play Horizon Zero Dawn at 60 FPS or higher was on PC. It was the very first first-party title by Sony to get a PC release. Since then, Days Gone has gotten a PC release, and Uncharted 4 is the next one on the docket.
