In the Season 2 finale of How to Get Away With Murder , Annalise (Viola Davis) learns Frank’s (Charlie Weber) role in her miscarriage and the Mahoney case ten years ago. She curtly tells Bonnie (Liza Weil) that Frank has to leave and and we later see through Laurel’s (Karla Souza) eyes that he has indeed packed up and left.
Is Frank gone for good? It seems unlikely that Annalise will forgive him, considering he is responsible for her child’s death and killed Lila. That said, Frank has been a loyal sidekick for Annalise and her go-to for several morally questionable situations that her and her team have gotten into. Keeping that in mind — and also remembering that he killed Lila for Sam and did not know Mahoney would hurt her — it is possible that he will be forgiven.
There’s also the fact that that he is a likely suspect for the death of Wes’ alleged father. “For sure,” said Nowalk to EW when asked if Frank could be the killer. “From what we saw, Frank was finding out that Wallace was Wes’ father in the finale. Once Laurel told him, I think it was information he was getting in that moment. Say what you will why he would do that, but I think that definitely would make sense.”
Nowalk told TV.com: “I definitely think that's what makes sense. He just found out this episode that Wallace was also Wes' father and he knows Wallace caused that car accident. That would make complete sense. I think I know who shot Wallace at this point and I will not tell you if you're right or not. I will say sometimes we like to shock you guys and sometimes we like to do what makes sense. It's all up for grabs.”
How to Get Away With Murder returns for a third season in the fall.
