The Huawei P9 line will be announced April 6 and a continuous stream of information has been leaked about the devices. Most recently, vendor Oppomart published price details and specifications for the Huawei P9, P9 Max and P9 Lite, leaving few unknown details about the upcoming devices.
If accurate, the Huawei P9 will sell for $499 upon launch, while the Huawei P9 Max will sell for $699 and the Huawei P9 Lite will sell for $299. The devices are expected to have international availability, particularly in China. Since devices like the Huawei P8 Lite were sold unlocked and marketed to U.S. consumers, the P9 line may follow suit.
While Oppomart’s listings of the Huawei P9 devices include detailed specifications, features for the smartphones have not yet been confirmed.
The Huawei P9 may feature a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a Hisilicon Kirin 950 chip, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera, a 3,000mAh battery and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
The Huawei P9 Max may feature a 6.2-inch Quad HD display, a Hisilicon Kirin 955 chip, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, a 12 megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera, a 3,000mAh battery and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
The Huawei P9 Lite may feature a 5-inch Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chip, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera, a 2,500mAh battery and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
The Huawei P9 and Huawei P9 Lite both support global 4G networks, further hinting at possible U.S. availability. The use of the Snapdragon 650 chip on the Huawei P9 Lite also suggests the device may be developed for the U.S. market. However, those details likely won’t be confirmed or refuted until April 6.
