Humble Bundle is joining forces with other organizations/developers to fight COVID-19 by raising money for charity. They are offering over 90 games in the Trove to play anytime according to their website, and have managed to collect over $6.5 million already. Good gestures from the community are helping us survive through this awful time, by providing us games to entertain ourselves and also helping reducing the spread of COVID-19.
Humble Bundle sold 208,528 units in their store, offering many interesting choices for a fixed price. “The Humble Conquer COVID-19 Bundle was a HUGE success! With 208,527 bundles sold, the Humble community raised $6,565,557 for a few organizations responding to COVID-19 in a multitude of ways," Humble stated in their blog post. "We reached out to Direct Relief, International Rescue Committee, Doctors Without Borders, and Partners In Health for insight into how these funds will be used during these trying times.” You can read more about the cause on their blog.
Their main goal was to support organizations that help in fighting against COVID-19, like delivering protective gear to safeguard healthcare workers and providing medical care to infected patients. Many other developers have also started helping fight against COVID-19. Recently, Thatgamecompany, the developer of Journey, was raising funds for Earth Day and COVID-19 relief.
