While users updating to iOS 10.2 may be excited about all the new emoji, the update also includes a number of bug fixes. Prior iOS versions included several issues, which are now being addressed.
Most fixes address issues found on the iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4th generation and later, and iPod touch 6th generation or later. One standout bug allowed users to access photos and contacts without unlocking a device.
The update does not appear to include a fix for the recent battery drain and spontaneous shutdown issues found in iOS 10.1. However, this issue is found primarily on the iPhone 6s.
iOS 10.2 is available for wireless update or manual flashing. Learn how to update your iPhone,
