If you’ve been having problems with the iOS App Store for the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, there is a simple and easy fix that may be able to solve your issues. Sometimes, a problem with the cache in the iOS App Store leads to the Apple store app not working properly.
To clear the cache in the iOS App Store, simply tap on the menu bar at the bottom of the page more than ten times in rapid succession. This should reset the iOS App Store cache and your issues should go away.
If this doesn’t work, try force-quitting the app and then reopening it. This can be done by activating App Switcher by pressing down the home button twice and then swiping up on the open app.
If neither of the two fixes work, try signing your Apple ID out of the iOS App Store before doing a soft reset on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
The latter can be done by holding both the lock button and the home button together for about 5-7 seconds, while the former can be accomplished by navigating to the “Featured” tab in the iOS App Store and then scrolling all the way to the bottom of the page and clicking on your Apple ID email.
Resetting the iOS App Store cache trick also works with the iTunes Store app, and the Apple Watch app as well. You can reset the iOS App Store cache by tapping at least ten times on any of the tab bar item, including “Updates,” “Search,” “Explore,” “Top Charts” and “Favorites.”
