I know what you’re thinking: Not another remake, especially if it’s of a beloved childhood classic. But honestly, if there’s any animated film that could benefit from a live-action remake, it’s The Jungle Book. The trailer looks absolutely gorgeous and the likes of Baloo, Bagheera and more are voiced by a wealth of A-list talent that includes Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito and Christopher Walken.
Recently Disney unveiled a new poster featuring the villainous tiger Shere Khan, who is voiced by Idris Elba. The British actor seems like a great fit for the role and the imagery on the poster is intriguing and menacing at once. The newly released Shere Khan poster is part of a trifecta that debuted Tuesday with King Louie and Kaa and concludes Thursday with with a mystery character. Take a look at the Idris Elba Shere Khan poster below:

It was earlier this summer that we got our first realistic glimpse of Disney’s live-action remake of The Jungle Book. The image revealed at the D23 Expo unveiled the faces of the film’s two main characters Mowgli and Bagheera for the first time. The previously released shot of the film included the same pair, but at a distance, as the protagonists trekked alongside a massive waterfall.
While both screenshots impressed with their gorgeous imagery, the end results still appeared partially cartoonish-ish, leaving us to wonder exactly how realistic Jon Favreau’s adaptation would appear. Those doubts were recently laid to rest however, with the release of the first live footage, courtesy of Disney.
The Jungle Book remake is building hype and was recently listed as one of the top 10 most anticipated movies of 2016. Let’s hope Disney gets it right and delivers for excited audiences.
The Jungle Book is slated to hit theaters on Apr. 15. Take a look at the official trailer below:
