Update at Feb. 1, 12:22 p.m. EST: Tickets have officially gone on sale. Apparently the event will take place at 4 p.m. EST. Kanye also changed the name of the album to Waves.
Kanye West will reportedly debut his new album, SWISH, live at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 11, the date of the album’s commercial release. Consequence of Sound is reporting Kanye fans not lucky enough to live in New York City can still manage to experience SWISH ‘s debut by purchasing a ticket and seeing the event live in a movie theater chain across the globe.
Nobody quite knows if Kanye will be performing the album live during the event, but it seems doubtful. As Consequence of Sound noted, Kanye is expected to release “season 3” of his Adidas fashion line on the same date, and the poster for event does explicitly say “Yeezy Season 3.” Considering Kanye’s previous fashion shows were called “Yeezy Season 1” and “Yeezy Season 2,” well, put two and two together.
An event listing also states that Kanye’s visual art collaborator Vanessa Beecroft will be performing as well. Considering that Beecroft collaborated with Kanye for his past two fashion shows, the event being a fashion show seems more and more of a certainty. However, concrete details are still to emerge, so this is all just speculation at this point.
To purchase tickets in the U.S., you’ll want to go to Tickets.KanyeWest.com. For Kanye fans living in Germany or Europe, you’ll need to find which vendor has the exclusive deal to sell them.
