The Kingdom Hearts series is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary next year. In the lead-up to that big celebration, the cloud versions of 10 titles in the series are launching on Nintendo Switch as three standalone cloud releases. Each can be purchased individually or as part of the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece for Cloud.
The first title of the franchise is Kingdom Hearts released in 2002. It tells the story of a boy named Sora who's searching for his friend. He obtains a weapon known as the Keyblade which lets him fight the heartless beings coming from the Realm of Darkness. Along the way, he meets Donald Duck and Goofy who are searching for their missing king, Mickey Mouse.
The game started what would later become a long partnership between Square Enix and Disney. Since the launch of the first game, the series has sold more than 35 million copies around the world.

Other Updates
In addition to the announcement of titles coming to Switch, it’s been revealed that the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Union χ [Cross] can now be played in theater mode through the offline version. Meanwhile, the final chapter of Kingdom Hearts Dark Road is coming out this winter. Finally, the Kingdom Hearts Uχ Dark Road app, available on Android and iOS, has managed to exceed 10 million downloads.
Of course, there’s going to be a Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary Event, the details of which are to be announced at a later date. One thing is certain though, it’s going to be a fun celebration.
