Players can choose from a variety of base classes in Last Epoch that each have their own unique skills and playstyles.
The game also gives you a chance to customize your class even further through Mastery Class selection which lets you upgrade your base classes. You can choose from several options for each one that will have its own distinct playstyle.
Choosing a Master Class enables players to make use of much more powerful abilities and become even more unique from other players. But in order to do this, you first need to unlock the feature itself.
How To Unlock Class Mastery
Players who want to specialize their classes in Last Epoch first have to unlock Class Mastery by progressing through to the end of the second chapter. This is where you face off against the Husk of Elder Pannion.
You must defeat the boss during this particular battle, which lets you move forward and unlock Class Mastery.
Your character will be led toward the End of Time after the boss fight and you can then accept the quest The Power of Mastery given by the Forgotten Knight, according to Game Rant.
She will then direct you to someone known as Elder Gaspar whom you need to speak to so you can progress the quest. They will present you with the choice to select a Master Class for your character's base class.
Choosing a Master Class
It is worth noting that you need to have invested 20 Passive Points into your base class in Last Epoch before you are able to select a Mastery Class. These points are acquired by completing quests and leveling up through the game.
Be careful when choosing your Class Mastery as it is a permanent decision and cannot be changed afterward. On the other hand, you are free to respec the Passive Points that you have put into your Mastery tree by talking to the applicable NPC in town, The Gamer said.
List of Master Classes
Each base class in Last Epoch has access to three Master Classes that players can choose from when they unlock the feature. The Acolyte is a spellcaster that primarily uses what can be considered "evil" magic. Its Master Classes are Lich, Necromancer, and Warlock.
The Mage class is the typical spellcaster class and can use a variety of elements to defeat foes. Players who choose this class can become either a Runemaster, Spellblade, or Sorcerer for their Class Mastery.
Primalists are characters who are more attuned to nature and can choose from Shaman, Beastmaster, and Druid Master Classes.
If you are fond of stealthy and sneaky classes, then the Rogue is a good choice. It can be changed into a Bladedancer, Marksman, or Falconer.
Lastly is the Sentinel base class which is Last Epoch's tanky character and is primarily melee-based and focuses on defense. Its Master Classes are Forge Guard, Void Knight, and Paladin, according to Polygon.
