League of Legends Update 12.20 is finally here, and it buffs eight champions, including some champions that were nerfed recently. We will focus on the buffs applied to Kennen and Wukong, as these champions have the highest potential to be blind-picked.
Kennen
Kennen is not in the best spot right now, especially when tanks can survive his burst and deal more damage than him. So, Riot made a small change to his Lightning Rush (E) ability to better match his opponent.
Lightning Rush (E)
The developers are unleashing the limits of Kennen. In this update, they added a new passive to the Lightning Rush ability called the Shadow Shuriken Jutsu. The Shadow Shuriken Jutsu, will allow Kennen to surpass the 2.5x attack speed limit, so he can land more auto attacks in a short while. But this is only possible after Lightning Rush has concluded.
Wukong
Wukong is a great pick in the jungle and top lane if you want an AD champion with insane team fighting potential. But the damage output of his ultimate isn’t the best as players can deal more if they end it early and use Wukong’s other abilities. So, the developers buffed his ultimate to encourage players to spin to win.
Cyclone (R)
- Physical Damage per Cast: From 8/12/16% of target's maximum health (+ 220% AD) to 8/12/16% of target's maximum health (+ 275% AD)
As shown, the buff for Cyclone only affects its AD scaling, not the percent HP of its target. That means Wukong will deal more damage with items and levels, which should give him more incentive to build AD items for maximum damage. This buff might bring him back into meta and keep him on equal footing with other top-tier junglers and top laners in terms of damage and crowd control.
