Ever since the reveal of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild amiibo, Nintendo has been secretive about what they can actually do in the upcoming Wii U/Switch game. However, a supposed photo of the back of two of the amiibo has possibly revealed that players can receive rare weapons for tapping them.
In a reddit post, an image allegedly depicting the back of the Rider Link and Archer Link amiibo for Breath of the Wild shows some of the rare weapons Link will receive when they are tapped into the game.
By tapping the Rider Link, a saddle for horses and a rare sword will be gifted to Link. Tapping the Archer Link will give a rare bow to use in this new Hyrule adventure. Check out the photo below.
Of course, this isn’t 100 percent confirmed until Nintendo reveals this information themselves, but in our estimation it’s pretty likely this photo is real. With Breath of the Wild about to release for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U, it’s only a matter of time until that information is announced.
Nintendo has already revealed how the 30th Anniversary Zelda amiibo will work with Breath of the Wild. Here’s what each 30th Anniversary amiibo does in BotW.
- 8-bit Link will reward you with a random number of barrels. You might find rupees inside too!
- Ocarina of Time Link will reward you with a random amount of meat.
- Toon Link will reward you with a random amount of fish.
- Wind Waker Zelda will reward you with a random selection of plants.
The Breath of the Wild amiibo isn’t only relegated to Link. Bokoblin and Zelda herself will be getting their own amiibo for Breath of the Wild. However, like the Link amiibo, their functionality is still unknown.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will release March 3.
