Nintendo has made huge announcements in its E3 presentation, including the reveal of the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
While the sequel to the critically-acclaimed game was mentioned back in 2019, it was only this year when the company released a full trailer.
The game is said to have a much darker tone than the original, according to Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma.
In the trailer, a character who appeared to be Link falls down from the sky. It was followed by what seems to be Ganondorf's corpse. After that, the footage highlighted floating islands, which would seem to indicate more flying in this new game.
In true Legend of Zelda fashion, you can assume that the main character will have new tricks and abilities up his sleeve.
Something in the Audio
Because the game is so popular, you can expect some avid fans to gain more information about the upcoming title by doing unusual things.
Redditor "ReroFunk" offered an interesting theory after reversing the audio of the sequel’s previously released trailer.
It might seem that a familiar foe from Zelda: Twilight Princess is making a comeback and that is none other than Zant.
The theory speculates that Zant might be the precursor to Demise, who is known to be the original source of evil in the series.
For those of you who do not know, Zant was a member of the Twili race that resided in the Twilight Realm. Because he was denied the throne, he took it by force. He then invaded the World of Light with Ganon’s aid.
Zant could potentially have a huge role in the upcoming sequel. The Redditor theorist presented some interesting points, so you may want to visit their post if you want to learn more.
Preorders Now Up
The sequel will be released sometime in 2022, but you can now preorder the standard edition for $60.
It is also worth noting that a potential collector’s edition may come up at a later time, so if you want, you could wait for that one instead.
So, are you excited about the sequel?
