Oh man, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is so great. I was really excited when I finally got the game because I am such a huge fan of the SNES quasi-prequel A Link To The Past. LTTP is my all-time favorite Zelda game so when I heard about The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds I knew I would be getting it as soon as it came out so I could do the one thing we all were thinking about doing when we first heard of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds: abusing chickens.
And here's what it looks like now:
You can really see the higher resolution and 3D effects make these chickens POP! The subtle "you're hurting me! You're hurting me! YOU'RE HURTING MEEEEE!" clucks of the chickens retain that nostalgic sound while still feeling crisp and modern.
I also liked how easy it was to find chickens in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. It didn't take me more than a few minutes (once I got past the chicken-less prologue ... UGH) to find a feathered foe to unleash my fury on. Kakariko Village remains the best place to find chickens in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds so it's nice to see that they stayed true to the original in that regard.
The controls for chicken abuse were very responsive. Every time I pressed a button to hurt the chicken the sword swung and I hurt it! Ohhhh man I can't believe it's taken more than a decade for Nintendo's legendary chicken abuse to be realized in HD resolution but it's true, good things are worth waiting for.
If you're a fan of chicken attacks then The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will absolutely not disappoint. And it's a pretty good Zelda game, too.
