They say that every legend has an origin and now players can once again experience that with the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. The game is launching on July 16 on Nintendo Switch.
This high-definition remastered game offers enhanced performance. Much like the original version, it uses motion controls that correspond to the movements of the player to allow for more realistic swordplay. The HD version also features new button-only controls which give players the option to play in either the Nintendo Switch Lite system or in Handheld Mode.
In a post, Nintendo confirmed the release of a “Zelda & Loftwing” amiibo on July 16 as well. The amiibo features two characters placed on a single base which are Zelda and Loftwing.
In the game, Zelda is the childhood friend of Link and is the same one who looks out for him. Loftwings, on the other hand, are large birds that live on the floating islands of Skyloft. They are usually ridden by the people to travel across the skies.
The adventure in Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD takes place in the skies where Link and his friends live. Typically, players can only return to the sky from the surface through designated save points. However, with the Zelda and Loftwing amiibo, players can immediately return to the skies no matter where they are on the surface, even when inside dungeons.
Players can use the amiibo again while in the sky to return to where they were on the surface.
One good use of the amiibo is when exploring the surface where players can immediately go to the Bazaar in Skyloft to replenish supplies that they’ve run out of. After getting those much-needed supplies, they can go back right away where they left off.
There’s also going to be a Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Edition Joy-Con (L)/(R) controller set to be released on July 16.
Preorders for the game are now accepted, priced at $59.99. Learn more about the game here.
