The Madden NFL 17 Player Ratings Update made its return after taking a week off for Thanksgiving. As we move into Week 13, it is very clear that the best of the best in the NFL has been determined. The Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott continue to roll along and the New England Patriots seem unbeatable in the AFC. As for the Cleveland Browns... well they’re 0-12 so they are really bad.
The same can be said about players heading into this weekend’s NFL games. Everyone knows who are the top players in the league but in this update, two players are beginning to make noise in their Madden ratings. Another player is beginning to show signs of wearing down.
Is there a player that you think is missing from this week’s Madden NFL 17 Player Update? What players are you trying to pick up in Madden Ultimate Team ? Let us know in our comment section.
C.J. Fiedorowicz, TE, Houston Texans (up 3 points to 82 Overall)
The tight end for the Texans has become one of the more dependable weapons for Brock Osweiler. Over the last three weeks, Fiedorowicz has caught 13 passes for 150 yards as some of the pressure is beginning to be taken off of star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. In addition to his overall jumping up a bit, Fiedorowicz saw his awareness (up 1), route running (up 4) and run blocking rating (up 8) increasing in this week’s Madden update. At this point, Fiedorowicz may not be a starter in Madden for Ultimate Team, but he can be considered as an average tight end who can block as a backup.
Tyreek Hill, WR, Kansas City Chiefs (up 2 to 79 Overall)
The fifth-round draft pick from West Alabama put on a show last Sunday night against the Denver Broncos. Hill became the first NFL player to score a touchdown rushing, receiving and on a kick return since 1965 to help the Chiefs beat the Broncos on the road. For his effort, the reigning AFC Offensive Player of the Week saw his Madden rating rise to 79. Hill also saw his catch in traffic and route running numbers go up as well as KC may have found another weapon in an average offense. At this point, Hill is no more than a deep threat in Madden and a premier kick return option if you are able to pick him up.
Vontae Davis, CB, Indianapolis Colts (down 3 points to 87 Overall)
Davis, once thought of as one of the best cornerbacks in the league, is slowly moving into Darrelle Revis territory of cornerbacks should maybe move to safety. Davis looks slower and receivers are beating him consistently and with Davis getting beat, that means the rest of the Colts secondary are getting beat as well. Davis saw his awareness, man coverage and zone coverage drop as his days as a possible number one cornerback on a NFL team are coming to an end. Look at Davis as a nickel or a newly minted safety in Ultimate Team.
