A great thing about the Madden NFL Franchise is how EA Sports continually updates the game regularly for players. As with all games, everything is not perfect upon a title’s release and Madden is no different as users are continuously finding things wrong with Madden NFL 17. Whether it’s an equipment issue or a gameplay change that affects the way your defense is lining up, EA can count on Madden players to find issues.
The constant tweaking of Madden NFL 17 continued on Friday as EA Sports released a new tuning update for the latest edition of the game for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. This update includes some subtle changes to the kicking game and to plays after the catch and during a sack. Here are the tuning updates for Madden NFL 17.
- Increased interception chances for user-controlled defenders in Multi-player catches
- Reduced kick meter accuracy penalty under rain conditions.
- Reduced kick meter power penalty under snow conditions.
- Increased wait-time for Pass Rushers to play shed moves when pass rushing (Reduced “Insta-Sheds”)
- A variety of tuning changes to help defense be more effective vs. running plays
- Reduced frequency of organic knock-outs after catches
- Reduced chances of broken tackles for ball carriers
- Slightly reduced throw-out-of-sack fumble chances
- Reduced chance for pass-blocking RB's to Cut-Block
- Reduce chance for success when pass-blocking RB's Cut-Block
According to some of the feedback online, many are still not happy about a few issues that were not addressed by EA Sports in this tuning update. For some, the kicking mechanism is an issue as the reaction time for kicking field goals and extra points is off kilter. Others are compliaing about lag while calling a play and a “sack glitch” that result in Roughing the Passer calls. One complaint was about fixing retractable domes in the the game that could open and close but that is a bigger issue that would not be resolved in a tuning update.
