With just a few days away from release, Marvel's Avengers seems to have one last War Table presentation in store. War Tables are basically livestreams where the developers provide further insights into Marvel's Avengers, explaining game mechanics, expounding upon the storyline, and more. In the next War Table presentation, the devs will supposedly reveal a brand-new playable Hero and new villains.
The War Table will be live-streamed on September 1, just three days before the game's release. The presentation is expected to help players get started with the game, provide strategies on dealing with waves of enemies, and better explain the progression system.
However, the most interesting part of the presentation will be the reveal of post-launch content. The post-launch content can be accessed after completing the main Reassembly campaign mission. So far, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have only announced two post-launch playable characters: Hawkeye and Spider-Man (who is exclusive to PS4/PS5 players).
The upcoming War Table is supposed to reveal future missions, locations, and game modes, with a greater focus on playable heroes and story content, both of which are said to be completely free of cost.
While we aren't sure who the new hero is going to be, we do have some interesting information on the subject. Some dataminers took the opportunity during the Marvel's Avengers beta and managed to create a list of potential playable heroes. The long list of playable heroes includes Ant-Man, The Wasp, Vision, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Falcon, Mar-Vall, Mockingbird, Quake, Winter Soldier, and Scarlet Witch. Whoever the next playable hero turns out to be, we are hoping that he/she won't be exclusive to a certain platform like Spider-Man is.
Additionally, the presentation is also supposed to reveal more villains. As of now, we have only seen MODOK, Taskmaster, and Abomination, who were either announced early on or were also featured in the beta.
Marvel's Avengers will release on September 4 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia. The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will release later this year.
