Last week, Marvel's Avengers had issued a discount on several items within its in-game store. However, it seems that the game has chosen to keep the reduced pricing going forward. On October 30, Marvel's Avengers informed players via Twitter that it would be extending the 50% Marketplace sale for the time being.
"Based on your feedback, we are keeping the 50% discounts on Takedowns and Emotes from last week's sale and making them the new regular price of these items," an in-game announcement in Marvel's Avengers reads.
The revision in pricing has an effect on the following:
- Epic Takedowns now cost 600 credits instead of 1,200 credits
- Legendary Emotes cost 500 credits instead of 1,000 credits
- Epic Emotes cost 250 credits instead of 500 credits
- Rare Emotes cost 125 credits instead of 250
This is quite a change for a game that launched two months ago. Marvel's Avengers has had a tough time since its release, with bugs and performance issues keeping players from enjoying the game. Avengers also witnessed a below 1,000 player count on PC in October. Now, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have decided to shower players with free content and a permanent reduction in in-game store pricing.
Marvel's Avengers was supposed to be receiving a Kate Bishop DLC this month, but it was delayed into 2021. The same has happened with the next-gen version of Avengers. Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics released a statement on the delay, which said that the Crystal Dynamics development team has decided to delay the post-launch content to focus on improving the base Avengers experience. This may have rubbed many players the wrong way, and some have even questioned the release of an unfinished product. Nonetheless, we are still hoping for Avengers to deliver upon the promise it once made.
Marvel's Avengers is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia. The game is also in development for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
