We’re not sure if an embargo expired this morning or if Monster Hunter World is just one of the most popular titles being shown during Paris Games Week. But regardless of the cause, fans of Capcom’s popular action RPG series have loads of new Monster Hunter World footage to enjoy this week, including roundups of all the monsters and armor sets revealed thus far. We even got an early look at some PS4-exclusive content featuring one of the platform’s newest stars.
The new Monster Hunter World gameplay comes via IGN, which published a pair of videos showing off all the unique armor and creatures we’ve seen in previews since Capcom announced the game at E3. Game Informer previewed the cooking changes we’ll see in MHW and several sites, including Polygon and GameSpot, published impressions from a recent Monster Hunter World preview event.
The new gameplay arrives on the heels of two big Monster Hunter World announcements, both of which are particularly exciting for PS4 owners. Capcom kicked off the week by announcing an open beta for Monster Hunter World that will be exclusive to Sony’s latest console. The beta will begin on Dec. 9, but there’s currently no word on an end date. Fans were also treated to a brief preview of the Horizon Zero Dawn cosmetic DLC that will be available for Monster Hunter World at launch. The add-on lets players hunt monsters as HZD’s protagonist, Aloy, and includes a robotic skin for the feline companions that accompany monster hunters in MHW.

Monster Hunter: World is in development for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game hits consoles on Jan. 26, but there’s still no timeline for Monster Hunter: World ’s Steam debut.
