TaleWorlds Entertainment has deployed a beta patch for Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord that implemented some battle and siege optimizations. It introduced some improvements to the clan and party system as well.

Beta Patch e.1.6.4 may help with overall performance, especially in large-scale battles since the devs have optimized campaign maps and siege operations. Lag spikes during these instances may be minimal than before.

In terms of clans and parties, you can now promote your companions into nobles. To use this feature, you must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be the leader of a kingdom
  • Have at least one fief
  • Have an active companion that is not a family member
  • Have 20.000 Denars and 500 Influence ready to spend for the promotion

Once the conditions are met, you can now promote your companion by initiating it through dialogue. The reason why you need to have at least one fief is that you will be awarding it to your newly promoted noble. After that, they will create a Tier-2 clan and will also receive a 50 Relation bonus with your clan.

Other significant changes include Glaive Weapons in Khuzait tournaments now deal blunt damage, removing the ability to attack enemy parties after accepting the “Surrender or Die” agreement - granting them safe passage, and the addition of a scrollbar to the list of settlements in the abdication kingdom decision panel.
