The IEM Katowice matches between Natus Vincere and Gambit have concluded. The matchup between the two teams was played in a best of three series.
The first map of the series was Overpass. Na'Vi started out pretty strong thanks to Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov from NaVi fragging out with 10 kills within six rounds. Since the seventh round, Gambit switched up their playstyle and started to win rounds. On round 15, Gambit tried to rush the site by flashing and pushing into the section. This caught Na'Vi off-guard because one player flanked them during the rush.
Gambit won the first map with a 16-12 scoreline, with Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov carrying the team. Sh1ro had 20 kills during the first match but the rest of Gambit were pretty bad in terms of K/D. Still, their coordination as a whole allowed them to beat NaVi on the first map.
The second and final map was Train. Sh1ro played really well in round six with the AWP. He started off with a double kill while on the train ladder, which is rather difficult. Then he proceeded to clutch a 1v1 situation and won the round by defusing the bomb with less than one second remaining. Na'Vi seemed like they lost all hope as they weren’t able to get more rounds. The first half went 11-4 in favor of Gambit.
Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev from Na'Vi messed up two important kills in round 20, which resulted in his team losing the round. Gambit won the final map with a 16-6 scoreline and Sh1ro carried the team once again. He got a total of 40 kills and showed off an impressive 1.45 rating against Na'Vi.
