The IEM Katowice matches between Natus Vincere and Team Liquid have concluded. The matchup between the two teams was played in a best of three series.
The first map of the series was Overpass. Na'Vi dominated Liquid until round four. Jacky "Stewie2k" Yip from Liquid showed that things are different when he made an insane play in round five, which helped the team gain momentum. Stewie2k hid in the corner of the washroom waiting for his opponents while the rest of Liquid was pushing the opposite side. Stewie2k used this to his advantage and got a triple kill to win the round. Liquid took the lead in the first half with a 10-5 scoreline.
Na'Vi tried to rush on the 30th round, however, Liquid was prepared for it and countered the attempt well. Liquid won the first map with a 16-14 scoreline.
The second map was Dust2. Na'Vi dominated on Dust2 with a 16-7 scoreline, just losing a few rounds in between to Liquid’s aggressive plays. Denis "electronic" Sharipov from NaVi had an amazing second match as he topped the leaderboards for his team with 24 kills.
The final map of the series was Inferno, which decided the team advancing to groups. Liquid began playing the first half aggressively that worked out and helped them reach a 10-5 scoreline. But after the side switch, Na'Vi switched their gears and caught up with Liquid. Stewie2k though had another great save on round 18, as he got a quad kill by just sitting in the site under the blue box and winning the round for his team.
The map went into overtime and Liquid was able to pull the win with a 22-19 scoreline. Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski from Liquid carried them throughout the series with 73 kills in total.
