Beyonce is a master at keeping her new music a secret. “Formation” was released with almost no warning. Bey blessed us with “7/11” and a poppin’ music video out of nowhere. However, aside from the Beyonce: Platinum Edition in Nov. 2014 (which included a bunch of remixes and two additional songs, “Ring Off,” and previously mentioned “7/11”), Bey appears to be unaffected by pressure of antsy fans waiting for B6. Queen B’s fifth album, self-titled Beyonce , was released in December 2013. So what’s up with some new Bey?
According to the latest rumors from music industry blog Hits Daily Double , Beyonce has been working on her sixth album, which is now set for April release. Of course, these tidbits didn't come from Beyonce herself, but hey, it’s a glimpse of hope. In early February, Beyonce’s stylist Ty Hunter spilled some beans about the new rumored album. "I've heard the new album. It's beyond awesome. It's great," he told E Online’s Andy Cohen.
Another clue came from Instagram . “Drunk in Love” and “7/11” producer Noel ‘Detail’ Fisher snapped a selfie with Beyonce at Kelly Roland’s birthday party this week. A fan commented, “Where’s that music though?” Detail responded, “iz coming.” Peep the comment below:
Detail also added to the hype about a joint Jay Z and Beyonce project at the 2015 Grammy Awards. “Me and Beyonce and Jay Z are actually doing something together this year. I mean, when you think of Jay and B together, you think album. You should already know,” Detail disclosed to Billboard on the red carpet. Hits Daily Double also reports 2016 will be the year for this long awaited collaboration.
Beyonce’s new album would make perfect sense for Tidal right now. Coming right off the heels of Kanye West’s exclusive The Life of Pablo release, Bey could keep the momentum going. She already brought Tidal’s app to the top of the iTunes Store with her single, “Formation,” which was released exclusively on Jay Z's streaming service and is not yet available on iTunes. Drake’s View From The 6 is also set for April release. Drake’s OVO label has a deal with Apple Music, so Beyonce hyping up Tidal would create some healthy competition between the two budding music streaming services.
A new album in April would also match up nicely with the launch of Beyonce’s Formation World Tour which kicks off April 27 in Miami. Coincidence, we think not.
