Konami will squeeze in one more three-day Metal Gear Survive beta before the game hits PC and consoles at the end of the month. A press release for the beta suggests it won’t be much different from the last build shown to the public, but the second MGS test does give fans another chance to earn the in-game rewards offered to last month’s testers.
Last month, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners were given their first opportunity to play Metal Gear Survive via a multiplayer-enabled beta test that featured a handful of missions from the final game. The beta was console-exclusive and fans were pretty divided on the gameplay. Still, most agreed that MGS was a more-polished sandbox experience than anyone expected, given how far of a departure Survive seems to be from the bulk of the Metal Gear franchise. And now PC gamers, along with console owners who missed the first test (there was a lot going on that week) will get a chance to try Konami’s first post-Kojima Metal Gear.
From what we can tell, there won’t be any new content available during next week’s beta. Metal Gear fans will still receive a handful of in-game items after Survive launches at the end of the month, including a FOX HOUND name plate and a bandanna for their character. However, anyone who took part in last month’s beta has likely seen everything that will be available during the second MGS beta. But maybe you want to hop in and help a friend see everything before the beta is over—multiplayer will still be enabled during the second round of testing and word of mouth during the first test suggests it’s the ideal way to experience the game.
