A new trailer for Monster Hunter: World helps fans prepare for the game’s upcoming beta, taking fans on a tour of the content in Capcom’s next multiplayer action RPG. There aren’t any announcements in the new footage, but the 10-minute Monster Hunter trailer teases a plethora of content, from creatures to equipment, ahead of this weekend’s beta.
We’re still hoping to see a localized version of the trailer emerge before the end of the week. The new Monster Hunter: World promo was assembled for Japanese fans and doesn’t include English subtitles or narration. But that won’t stop anyone who’s already familiar with the series from absorbing some of the information it offers, including an early look at several creatures and equipment combinations from the fifth major Monster Hunter title. Names would certainly give us a bit more context for each; however, the franchise’s core gameplay loop is still easy to identify in the new video. The only time the lack of English narration really gets in the way is during an early part of the trailer, when Capcom introduces some NPCs players will meet on their journey.
In addition to the new trailer, Capcom also released more specific information about the PS4 beta slated to begin on Friday. The test build will require 6GB of free space and the studio says the game’s balance still needs some tweaking. Beta participants will receive a handful of bonus items when the full game debuts next month; however, details on those items have not yet been released. Fans may be disappointed that the Monster Hunter: World beta will only last 72 hours, but Capcom should be commended for electing to wait until Saturday to fire up the test servers, ensuring most fans aren’t stuck at work or school when the beta begins.
Here’s when PS4 owners will get/lose access to the Monster Hunter: World beta:
Start Time : 12:00pm EST on Dec. 9, 2017
End Time : 11:59am EST on Dec. 12, 2017
