Fans and players have to wait a little longer to get the full version of New World. Initially set to be released this August 31, it has been delayed to September 28. However, it’s not one without good reason.
New World had its closed beta from July 20 to August 2. During that time, it became one of the most-watched games on Twitch and even one of the most played games on Steam. Still, it was not one without any issues. One of these was that select graphics cards made by EVGA were reportedly bricked.
In a statement, the New World team said that the delay in the release was based mainly on the feedback given. While no specific issues were revealed, the team did say they were using the additional time to smash bugs, improve stability, and ultimately polish the game.
The team went on to say that the decision was not easy and this was actually not the first time it changed the launch date to improve the quality of the game. Before the August release date, the game was set to be released back in May 2020.
Pre-Order the Game
The delay means that more players now have the chance to pre-order the game. It is available over at Steam with the base game priced at $39.99. There is also a Deluxe Edition, priced at $49.99, and includes:

- New World digital artbook
Even without buying the Deluxe Edition, players can get some bonus content by simply pre-purchasing the game. These include:

About the Game
New World is an open-world MMORPG that takes place sometime in the mid-seventeenth century set in Aeternum Island. The game has players group up and choose from these three factions: Marauders, Syndicate, or Covenant. Like other games in its genre, players get to, among others, craft items, use node resources, go on quests, battle monsters, and even fight other players.
New World is available on PC.
