If you have been looking forward to the official release date of Nioh 2, then you are in for a treat. That is because the upcoming game’s release and open beta dates are already set. Now, all that you have to do is start practicing your swordsmanship.
As for the game’s release date, Nioh 2 releases on March 13, 2020. It is now official and was first revealed along with a new trailer teasing the way players can embrace their character's corruption to pull off some of the nastiest moves out there.
Team Ninja producer Fumihiko Yasuda explained via a PlayStation Blog post why it has taken them a bit too long to decide and arrive at a proper release date. He was quoted in the blog post as saying:
"One of the primary reasons for not rushing to set a launch date was to ensure that we can achieve a 'genuine evolution' from Nioh, which to us meant that we needed to bring in fresh new elements while retaining the things that we felt were right from the first game," Yasuda wrote. "Although there weren’t enough significant changes in the Alpha, we now feel that we have come much closer to reaching our goals."
Yasuda’s statement is definitely refreshing transparency. What is more, it is par for the course. Keep in mind that the first game significantly changed in response to player feedback, a narrative the studio had to go with after the initial demo. If you are excited to check how big of a change Nioh 2 has had since the alpha version, then you should keep an eye out for the open beta, which will start from November 1 to 10. The beta will give you the opportunity to customize your character and even try out the new Switchglaive weapon, as well as check out some of the many aspects of the upcoming title from Team Ninja.
For players who are able to complete the Nioh 2 open beta in time, they will reportedly obtain "The Mark of the Demon Slayer.” This give them the Kamaitachi Helmet in-game once Nioh 2 comes out next year.
