Nioh is getting the traditional Game of the Year bundle we see at the end of most DLC cycles. But the compilation isn’t heading to PS4, the exclusive platform for Nioh since February. Team Ninja is bringing Nioh: Complete Edition to PC before the end of 2017.
It’s not clear whether or not PlayStation 4 owners will get a chance to purchase Nioh: Complete Edition or if they’ll need to keep buying Nioh and its Season Pass separately. But PC owners will get the entire package, the base game and all three Nioh DLCs, along with the various balance fixes and other changes delivered between February and November. And the three Nioh DLCs released throughout 2017 aren’t tiny. They add several new chapters to William’s story, provide players more missions to complete and introduce an assortment of new gear to the game’s impressively large loot tables. Here are the official descriptions for each Nioh expansion:
The ‘Dragon of the North’ DLC follows on from William’s valiant struggle in the main game, opening up the region of Oshu and introducing terrifying new enemies, weapons, armour, ninja skills, magic and Guardian Spirits.
‘Defiant Honour’ moves the narrative to the Osaka region and focuses on one of the defining battles of late Sengoku era introducing new key characters, weapons, equipment, enemies, Guardian Spirits, an even more challenging difficulty level and new trophies.
Finally, ‘Bloodshed’s End’ adds a further three main missions, nine side quests and a twilight mission concluding William’s journey.
Koei Tecmo says multiplayer will be available on PC, just as it was on PS4, and that Nioh will allow parties of three to fight together. Nioh: Complete Edition also features two presentation options. Action Mode will tune the game’s visual and audio settings to deliver a consistent performance and locked 60fps frame rate. Movie Mode aims for a more cinematic experience by expanding the display resolution to 4K. Frame rate be damned.
Nioh is currently available on PS4. Nioh: Complete Edition heads to PC on Nov. 7.
