Nvidia is looking to take back some of the entry-level GPU market share from AMD with the release of new budget cards.
Recently, it was announced that Nvidia will launch its upcoming GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card in the next couple of days. The card is aimed at the budget or entry-level market, and refreshes the somewhat successful GTX 1050 graphics card, which was released back in 2016. If the recent listings are to be believed, we might also see its big brother, the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti, fairly soon. The listings come from ECC, which reveals the existence of the 1650 Ti, along with several custom variants for the budget card for a planned launch at a later date.
The GeForce GTX 1650 has a 75W TDP, meaning that Nvidia could be targeting the Radeon RX 580, which is currently one of the better budget cards in terms of price-to-performance ratio. The GeForce GTX 1650 also features a 4GB GDDR5 VRAM, 2GB higher than the launch version of the GeForce GTX 1050. The lower TDP is expected to forgo the need for an external connector, allowing its future users to run the card with a lower-wattage power supply.
That does not mean, however, that the GeForce GTX 1650 will launch without a PCI-e connector at all. Manufacturer ASUS has already been reported to be working on several custom 1650 Ti models, some of which feature overclocking capabilities. They were also included in the ECC listing (via Komanchi on Twitter):
- ASUS GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Dual
- ASUS GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Dual Advanced
- ASUS GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Dual Overclock
- ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1650 Ti Gaming
- ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1650 Ti Gaming Advanced
- ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1650 TI Gaming Overclock

- ASUS Phoenix GTX 1650 Ti Gaming

The GeForce GTX 1650 4GB variant cards are expected to be worth $149, while a 2GB variant for lower-end markets could fetch for as low as $129 - $139. We will learn pretty soon once the cards have been formally launched though, which is sometime later this week.
