If you’re one of those waiting for the full release of OddBallers, then we have some bad news. The official launch has been postponed to a later date. No actual date was announced, but hopefully, it’s within the year.
This upcoming dodgeball multiplayer party game was initially scheduled for March 24. The game was planned for launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and Amazon Luna. Standard Edition is available at the Ubisoft Store for $19.99.
In a post, Ubisoft revealed the decision to postpone was made to make sure that the game would offer the best experience for players. The development team added that since they wanted the launch to be smooth, it was important to work on more improvements. The team did say that the additional time should allow them to deliver a good game.
More details regarding the status of OddBallers are to be revealed in due time.
OddBallers can be played solo or in multiplayer with as many as four players locally and six players online. In the game, players need to dodge, block, and throw items across three unique environments. Each environment features at least 30 different arenas and plenty of minigames.
Players need to progress from arena to arena, win minigames, earn medals, and convert their match point to win. These minigames range from classic modes like last-one-standing battles all the way to various wacky competitions like who can shave sheep using a lawnmower. Regardless of what minigame a player chooses, there’s only one rule - everything's a weapon. That includes balls, chickens, cacti, or anything that the player can pick up.
There are hundreds of different accessories, outfits, and haircuts, to name a few. These should allow players to customize their OddBallers. In fact, aside from using non-conventional weapons, players can also bust out a sweet dance move or even taunt opponents.
