Electronic Arts and developer Respawn Entertainment have confirmed that we will see the first gameplay footage for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order during the annual EA Play event this year. This statement was made as part of the MayThe4thBeWithYou celebrations. Developer Respawn has teased recently that gameplay footage was bound to drop soon, and most were banking on it around E3.
The publisher will expand on its EA Play event, separating it into multiple livestreams to air during the week prior to E3 itself. EA will start airing its livestreams on June 7, and will continue on until June 11, two days into E3. The EA Play event will take place at the Hollywood Palladium, also in Los Angeles. Attendees of the event will be able to watch various presentations of upcoming Electronic Arts titles, and will be able to play some of the games featured. Whether or not there will be a playable build for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order remains to be seen.
It’s not surprising at all that EA would want to debut something as big as actual gameplay footage for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order during their EA Play event, seeing as it has been one of the publisher's main outlets for the promotion of new titles. Electronic Arts foregoing E3 is not that surprising as well, as the company believes that hosting their own event is likely to get them more attention and they will be able to provide more time for their games. It’s very likely that a game as big and as hyped as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will have a full day just for itself.
In any case, it would finally be a relief to see just how gameplay looks for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. I can say without any hesitation that I am doubly careful of a title when its under Electronic Arts, so it would be good if they can back up the enormous hype built around the title.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is set to be released on November 15, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
