It looks like we have a plot to look forward to in the upcoming game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. EA has since confirmed that the game will be single-player without any microtransactions, something I know most Star Wars fans can appreciate.
Writer Chris Avellone recently said in a tweet that he was done with his part of the story. He is one of the six experienced writers working on the game.
In a recent interview with VG247, Avellone said that, “Story was very important to Respawn. I think they do a good job of introducing various narrative layers into their games already, but they think the story is an important part of what they perceive to be a Star Wars game. That's one of the reasons I like Respawn, because when they tackle something like that, they understand what the important points are.”
This is somehow shocking, because Electronic Arts is a publisher known for its focus on live service games like FIFA, Madden and Star Wars Battlefront 2. The publisher believes that live service games bring in more profit and gain more popularity than others. Hearing this news just shows that EA is ready to explore and broaden their horizons by taking some risks.
Avellone also said, “I think they brought me on because I have a pretty strong Star Wars pedigree so I’d probably be able to just jump right in – and I was, which was good. It didn’t require a ton of new research.” Avellone has worked on acclaimed games in the past like Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords, Fallout: New Vegas, and Planescape Torment.
So, what do you think? Are you excited to find out the story of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order that the creators are all proud of? I guess in the meantime, we’ll have to wait if the game can meet our expectations that continue to rise as they give us more hints. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is scheduled to be released on November 15 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Pre-orders are available now, with certain bonuses coming to those who are willing to pay for the game earlier.
