It’s here, it’s almost here. The event Sony fans have been desperately waiting for is only a couple of hours away. The PlayStation Showcase Event will go live today at 4 p.m. EST. The online-only event will be streamed on both Twitch and YouTube.
Missed Events and Long Silence
After Sony missed both E3 and Gamescom, PlayStation fans were left waiting, whereas Microsoft and Nintendo fans knew which games were coming to their platforms. PS fans had to just wait, but the long silence is over. Sony claimed that the upcoming event will show games from both PlayStation Studios and third-party developers. The event will last around 40 minutes.
Though 40 minutes isn’t exactly a lot of time to show gameplays of multiple games. I am expecting trailers and proper gameplay footage of one game. Which game will that be? I guess we will find out.
Rumors and Leaks
Here are the games rumored this week, and they may appear at the event:
- A well-known leaker claimed that God of War Ragnarok will finally be shown in some capacity.
- The actor who plays the role of the main protagonist in Forspoken hinted that news about their game is coming.
- Leaks about a new Wipeout game in development will air.
- The highly demanded Bloodborne Remastered is also expected by fans.
Sony could also give us one final look at upcoming games that are only a few days away. Deathloop is less than a week away and Death Stranding Director’s Cut will launch on September 24. It’s also possible that some indie games will be present, like Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Little Devil Inside.
PC Announcements
While highly unlikely, it is still possible. It will be amazing if Sony finally reveals the Uncharted Collection for PC. We already know that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will eventually end up on PC. However, I won’t hold my breath for the announcement. PS event will probably wanna focus on PlayStation games.
