The Pokémon Go U.S. field tests are set to begin at the end of May, and Niantic has come out and given those anxiously awaiting Pokémon’s introduction to mobile devices some more details and screenshots of what they can expect.
First off, Niantic explained on its blog how hatching eggs in Pokémon Go works. In the past, Niantic explained how egg hatching works but went a little more in-depth with the process this time; trainers will have to physically walk and achieve a certain number of steps to hatch the eggs.
There are also Incubators that will help with the process.
Along with egg hatching, Niantic explained how Gym Battles work in Pokémon Go:
“Trainers also will encounter Pokémon Gyms at real-world locations. Pokémon Gyms are special locations where Trainers can test their Pokémon in battles as they compete to win control of the Gym for one of three Pokémon Trainer teams. Empty Gyms are claimed by a team when a Trainer places a Pokémon there to claim it. Friendly Gyms grow in prestige when their defending Pokémon are trained in battles. Higher level Gyms have room for more Trainers to deploy Pokémon to defend them. Rival Gyms can be challenged by Trainers who can use their Pokémon to attack the defending Pokémon. Groups of players can work together to challenge rival Gyms.”
Trainers choose between the three Pokémon Trainer teams mentioned above when they are first creating their character. Your choice is between Red, Blue or Yellow and you can go and claim Gyms for your team.
With the field tests for the U.S. and other regions coming soon, Pokémon Go may indeed release in 2016 as first stated. In the meantime, you can check out a whole bunch of screenshots on the Niantic blog.
