There’s already a lot of events happening this November in Pokémon Go. Even still, developer Niantic isn’t stopping yet. The Animation Week 2020 event is arriving in Pokémon Go early next month, and is based on Pokémon Journeys: The Series.
The event starts on November 5 at 8:00 AM and runs until November 12 at 10:00 PM, local time.
During this event, Pokémon encounters, along with other content, are going to tie to two main characters, which are Ash and Goh. Trainers can also take part in an event-exclusive Timed Research that’s inspired by the storyline of the animated series.
Here are full features of the event:
- World Cap Pikachu is going to be appearing in the wild.
- Some lucky Trainers may even encounter a Shiny one.
- From November 5 at 4:00 PM to November 16 4:00 p.m. EST, Lugia returns to five-star raids—this time with the attack Aeroblast.
- Pokémon like Ivysaur, Pinsir, Snorlax, Golurk, and others appear in raids.
- Trainers can look forward to encountering these Pokémon more frequently in the wild:
- Bulbasaur
- Exeggcute
- Cubone
- Scyther
- Dratini
- Cyndaquil
- These Pokémon are going to hatch from 7 km Eggs:
- Pichu
- Mantyke
- Riolu
- Cubone
- Take on new Timed Research inspired by multiple episodes of the ongoing series Pokémon Journeys: The Series.
- Goh might appear in Go Snapshot.
- Be sure to take a snapshot during the event.
- Goh-inspired avatar items will be available.

November Events
Pokémon Go had already released details of the different events coming in November. There’s Raid Bosses, Spotlight Hours, and even Field Research. There’s also going to be new features to be introduced as well. Learn more about what’s happening in November here.

While the Halloween event has already started, it’s set to end November 3, so it counts as a November event, sort of. This one includes a Halloween-themed Special Research, and marks the official debut of Galarian Yamask to the game. Read about it here.
