Good news Pokémon GO fans! On June 29 in a special Pokémon GO Raid Event, players will get the chance to catch the legendary Electric-type Pokémon, Raikou.
On June 29, dubbed the Raikou Raid Day, the legendary Pokémon will appear in Raid Battles from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time. Aside from the appearance of one of the most elusive legendary Pokémon to date, players will also have a chance to come across a Shiny Raikou. For the duration of the Raikou Raid Day, players will be able to receive up to five free Raid Passes which are required to participate in the Raid Battles.
Apart from Raikou Raid Day, Niantic is also bringing back the Legendary Pokémon from Generation 3. For the past two weeks, the legendary Psychic-type Cresselia could be acquired through the weekly Legendary Raid Hour events held every Wednesday. This time around, and until June 27, the Legendary Raid Hour events will feature the Water-type legendary Kyogre, with a chance of encountering Shiny Kyogre as well. The last leg of this set of Legendary Raid Events will take place from June 27 to July 10, when players will be able to battle the legendary Ground-type Pokémon, Groudon.
Niantic just celebrated its third annual Pokémon GO Fest in Chicago last week, and it was chock full of fun, challenges, and rewards for Pokémon GO players around the world. Apart from the usual Global Challenges which rewarded players around the world for participating in local battles and events, Niantic also held some special in-game events like the Shiny Horsea event which took place last week.
While the Pokémon GO Fest in Chicago has already ended, Niantic still has a few big events lined up for the rest of the summer. Pokémon GO Fest in Dortmund, Germany is scheduled for July 4 to July 7. The last Pokémon GO Fest of the Summer will be in Yokohama, Japan from August 6 to August 12. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the events in-person; Niantic always makes sure that Pokémon GO Fest is something that fans from all over the world can celebrate, and will likely include more Global Challenges and rewards.
