A Pokémon Go Halloween event takes place each year, and Niantic has just announced the start time and date for this year's festivities. Also, the studio revealed some of the new pocket monsters and additions to the hot mobile game.
This year’s Halloween event will reportedly last for two weeks. It is going to start on Thursday, October 17. And based on the time line, the end date will be at the same time on Thursday, November 1. The event is going to bring new Pokémon to the game including a level five raid boss, more shadow Pokémon, spooky-cute costumes for four favourites, and a whole lot more.
For starters, the Pokémon Go Halloween 2019 event is expected to introduce a good number of changes this year. The very first one is going to be Yamask, which is a Ghost-type Pokémon. It is worth noting that the Pokémon will be introduced to the game for the very first time. In addition, Yamask will have its own shiny form, which alters the black and red to blue and gold.
Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pikachu, and Squirtle can be seen wearing cute Halloween costumes. For instance, Pikachu is going to be dressed up as Mimikyu while Bulbasaur will look like Shedinja. Charmander, on the other hand, will be Cubone, whereas Squirtle is Yamask. Players can even find these four trick or treaters in their shiny forms, although Niantic has yet to confirm whether the costume will appear with a different color or not.
Darkrai, the Dark-type Mythical Pokémon from Gen 4, will also find its way to level five raids for the duration of the Pokémon Go Halloween event. It will be widely considered as one of the best Dark-type attackers; hence, players must really try their best to obtain a Darkrai or two.
Lastly, Spiritomb is expected to return for the second time in the game and will serve as a reward for completing a new special research quest. There is no official announcement yet on what the objectives will be, but Niantic will definitely make some big reveals later on.
