Pokémon Sun and Moon are releasing Nov. 18, and before you know it everyone will be exploring the Alola region. However, a rumor regarding the games has resurfaced and it focuses on the starter Pokémon in particular.
An image began circulating several weeks ago that looked like concept art of the final stages of Rowlet, Litten and Popplio. However, many took the image to be fake or fan art, but a recent post on the Smogon message boards , and later NeoGaf, has a source close to the Chinese localization team for Sun and Moon revealing new information about the games.

Of course, this is all speculative and should be taken with a grain of salt, but if these rumors do turn out to be true, you may not want to continue so the games won’t be spoiled for you.
What makes this particular post somewhat credible is that it correctly predicted Salandit’s existence before it was officially revealed. We say “somewhat,” because the posting proclaimed that there will be a Fire and Poison-type Pokémon in Sun and Moon, and that’s exactly what Salandit is.
Here’s what else this supposed leaker says:
Sun and Moon ’s starters will be based on an archer, a wrestler and a siren, which matches the image that has been floating around.
There will be new Pokémon based on a mushroom, a dolphin, a sea cucumber, a snowman and a rugby monkey.
Rockruff will evolve into a werewolf.
Marshadow, a name that has been trademarked alongside Solgaleo and Lunala, will have a “very unique typing.”
There will be no Gyms in Sun and Moon, but instead it’s your job to set up a Gym in the Alola Region and once you do, the Elite Four will appear.
The bracelets on the protagonists’ wrists will apparently act like Mega Stones but unlock something else. A new Sun and Moon trailer seems to point to a massive elemental attack.
There’s a lot to go through from this short list and while the leak about Salandit’s typing gives the source some credibility, there’s a lot of vague statements in the latest supposed leak.
Marshadow’s “very unique typing” could mean anything. If the leak had a specific combination, then we could delve into it more. Also, the Rockruff portion is very easy to predict to make it seem correct, as we pointed out when the official reveal was posted.
If the Rockruff portion was leaked before its official reveal then, again, the list would seem more credible. But as of right now, we don’t believe these rumors and we will have to wait to see if anything else from this list is found to be true.
