Following the Pokémon TCG beta for Android tablets in early April, the wide release of the Pokémon TCG online app has gone live in the Google Play Store.
The free-to-play app is a direct port of the PC version released a few years ago and lets players dive into the Pokémon TCG with updated cards and packs. It’s also a great way to learn the new rules, if you feel like getting back into the trading card game.
As with every free-to-play app, there are optional in-app purchases. The Pokémon TCG Online app has purchases that range from $9.99 to a whopping $99.99.
A handy way to get free packs and cards in the Pokémon TCG Online app is to buy physical booster packs. Each comes with a download code that gives players access to some in-game goodies.
It’s a good way to cross-promote both products, so if you haven’t picked up a physical booster pack yet, consider doing so.
If you’ve been playing the game on your PC, you can easily sign-in with your trainer account to allow for seamless cross-play.
The Pokémon TCG Online app was made available for Apple tablets back in 2014; check it out if you haven’t already.
