Along with the recent addition of Chandelure to Pokken Tournament, Nintendo has announced some crucial release dates for the Wii U title.
The official Pokémon Twitter account has announced that the Wii U release of Pokken Tournament will happen on March 18, the same as the Japanese release date . European players will also receive the Tekken/Pokémon mashup on the same day too.
Shortly after the Chandelure in Pokken Tournament announcement, four new support Pokémon were revealed. Magikarp, Croagunk, Pachirisu and Sylveon can join your Pokémon in battle.
Serebii is also reporting on the game modes that will be available on the Wii U version of Pokken Tournament. The first mode is the standard single player mode where there will be three different difficulty levels. Local multiplayer is also available, which has been reported in the past that one player will use the gamepad and the other can use the special controller that will come with the game.
Unfortunately, it’s being reported that the local multiplayer will have 30 fps as opposed to the usual 60 fps.
Pokken Tournament will have an online component with two modes; Friendly and Ranked matches. Friendly matches will allow players to fight against players on their friend list or against those who have your Battle Code. Ranked matches can be fought against anyone and both combatants will be fighting for Rank Points.
And for those who want a local tournament going, Pokken Tournament will allow for multiple Wii U’s to be connected using a LAN cable.
