A new expansion is arriving to Prison Architect, and it’s set to be the spookiest one yet. The Undead expansion introduces players to a new objective: survival. Undead are rising from the grave and can infect those they bite. That means guards and inmates must work together to make it out alive.
The Undead expansion launches October 11 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, priced at $2.99.
The upcoming expansion adds the Graveyard Quick Room. While it does bring that much-needed spooky atmosphere to the compound, it’s where the undead horde spawns. These beings are relentless and can spread quickly across the prison. For players unable to manage to outbreak properly, they’re going to see prisoners becoming infected and witness the increase in the size of the horde.
In a statement, Game Director on Prison Architect at Double Eleven Gaz Wright shared that the expansion arrives just in time for the spooky season. It’s going to offer a mix of horror and survival to the game, and puts the management skills of players to the test. He added that it’s not going to be easy since there’s that extra layer of complexity and pressure to the management gameplay. He ended by saying that they hope the community enjoys the expansion as much as they enjoy making it.
Key features of the Undead expansion are:

- Who you gonna call? Bounty Hunters!
- When things go south and it's clear the prison can no longer hold off the outbreak, call the Bounty Hunter Emergency Service.
- These tough and trained bounty hunters join the fight against the undead.
