Update 17.1 for PUBG: Battlegrounds is now live. With this, players can now once again experience the original Sanhok map. There’s also a new weapon and adjustments to the Tactical Gear. The new update is available on PC and consoles.
For those who can remember, it was in 2020 when the Sanhok map was reworked. However, that did not work well with many players preferring the original version. As a result, the development team reworked the map again and made it more in-line with the original. So, the Truck, Decoy Grenade and Jammer Pack were all removed.
Work Done
Here are some of the works done on Sanhok:
- Bootcamp
- One of Sanhok’s popular hot drops returns with its representative lobster-shaped building.
- Ruins
- Be able to drop back on the roof of the daring chambers.
- Docks
- This was previously known as the Getaway.
- The touristy resort town says goodbye as the cargo-rich docks return.
- Quarry
- Reworks have been undone to the flooded limestone quarry.
- Bhan
- The nameless set of houses has redeemed its original identity.
Airfield has been removed, and the Mongnai returns. Returning as well are the original Cave, Mountain, River, Pai Nan, Khao, Sahmee, and Kampong.
While there were features removed from the original Sanhok, these items are expected to remain:
- Weapons
- M79
- 40mm Smoke Grenade
- Mk12
- Panzerfaust
- C4
- Tactical Gear
- Drone
- EMT Gear
- Spotter Scope
- Tactical Pack
- Other
- Mountain Bike
Update 17.1 also introduces a new 7.62-mm weapon with the ACE32. Some players are sure to love this one since it’s easier to tame than the Beryl M762. This weapon is available across all maps. Meanwhile, changes have been made to the Tactical Gear. Starting with this update, Tactical Pack won’t be able to store other Tactical Gear. That means no Drone, EMT Gear, and Spotter Scope.
The new update also means the start of the new ranked season. Players can expect to see all rewards earned during the Ranked Season 16 to be automatically added to their inventory.
PUBG: Battlegrounds is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, Android, and iOS.
