RAD released its latest update and among the different changes a highlight are the seven new quirks. This addition offers players a chance to experience new playstyles. New items have been introduced as well along with giving the hero better control over the mutations.
This new update is available through Steam as the October 16 Update while it is labeled Version 1.05 for PlayStation 4 and 1.0.0.7 on Xbox One.
As mentioned, new items and new consumables are released and it is up to players to discover and learn what they do. There are also new weather patterns as well as new world tiles that bring some much needed variation.
An important tweak that the update fixes is the issue with the secret mutation that caused it to lose its upgrade when loading a new level. In addition, the game now allows Altars to be used multiple times. However, each time they are used the chance of an offering being rejected increases. You need to look at the eyes because if they turn red, it means the altar is going to reject all offerings.
The update offers a new gameplay experience with seven new quirks added, which are:
- Key Master
- Increases the number of floppy disks that spawn.
- Meat Lovers
- More meat spawns.
- This is like the Shark Style but without the speed boost and no damage is done when the player stops moving.
- Yeet Lovers
- Increases the chances of getting ranged mutations.
- My Buddy
- Increases the chances of "buddy" mutations like Death Roe, Teeny Bopper, Suck Face, and Home Slice.
- Increases as well chances of "buddy" items like Polyp Pal and Laser Pal.
- Cheapskate
- Lowers prices in all shops.
- Unstable
- Taking damage results in one of your exo mutations randomly changing.
- Devolution
- The player starts with a full assortment of mutations.
- Over time, mutations are randomly taken away until the player is left with just their bat.
- New internal mutations can be gained but no new external mutation can be gained
RAD is a 3D action rogue-like game that is set in a post-post-apocalyptic world. In this world, humanity has faced armageddon not once, but twice. Players take control of a teenage protagonist who needs to go out into the Fallow, an ever-changing, radioactive wasteland that is filled with unknown and unspeakable creatures. Players need to find the solution to heal the world and turn the barren landscape into something that offers a source of new life.
