The Rainbow Six APAC South League Season 2020 Grand Finals between Union Gaming and MercenarieZ has concluded. The matches were played in a best of three series with only prize money to win. This league doesn’t affect the standing or anything related to Six Invitational.
The first map of the series was Oregon. The Goyo ban from Union Gaming was pretty smart considering MrcZ plays a ton of Goyo, and it can get quite difficult to clear his shield in the current meta. Union Gaming stood out in Round 4 by using a completely forgotten strategy, it included Ying and Glaz.
These operators haven’t been paired up for almost a year, which makes this round very interesting to watch. Union Gaming’s execution in that round was amazing, with Ying flashing the site and Glaz covering every angle.
But the match went all the way till overtime, and MrcZ was able to win with gunfights. Despite Union Gaming's efforts, MrcZ won Oregon with an 8-7 scoreline.
The second map, Villa, was another close match for both teams. Union Gaming won 4-2 on the attacking half, which is impressive since Villa is a defender-sided map. However, when Union Gaming switched to defense, they started losing tons of rounds due to early picks or failing to deny the plant during executions.
MrcZ had an amazing play in Round 13 when Jamal "Doc7er" Khan tossed a C4 and killed two enemies in the last 30 seconds. Then, he went on to kill another player as his teammate finished the final player in Union Gaming to take the series with an 8-7 scoreline.
