The Six Invitational 2021 Europe Relegation Finals between Cowana Gaming and MnM Gaming have concluded. The matches were played in a best of five series and the losing team would be relegated from the EU League.
The first map of the series was Consulate. Cowana played extremely well on defense as they took a 4-2 lead against MnM during the first half. This is rather remarkable considering the map favored attackers. Jake "Sloth" Brown from Cowana stacked up to seven kills for his team by playing super aggressive roles, showing how he was on the attack. Sloth would just push the opposite side of what his teammates were pressing, using that as a distraction to get the kills and win rounds.
Cowana took the first map with a 7-2 scoreline.
The second map, Villa, was another frag fest that MnM was able to win thanks to the shield meta. Granted the match did go all the way till overtime, MnM barely won the final defense round because of Cowana’s poor final execution into site.
The third map played on, Clubhouse, was highlighted the impressive fight put up by Cowana. The team used the Ying and Montagne combination, which allowed them to get the lead and take the map with an 8-6 scoreline.
Theme Park was the map that decided which team would stay in the EU League. Cowana brought in their Ying strategy from Clubhouse to Theme Park, however, it didn’t affect the execution much because of the Warden pick from MnM. The match peaked till overtime match point where MnM had a terrible play, which allowed Cowana to win the series with an 8-7 scoreline.
