Ghost Recon Breakpoint is launching exciting new content beginning January 21. Titled Operation Amber Sky, it’s going to introduce new, and possibly familiar, faces to the Auroa archipelago. We say this because players get to team up with Operators from Rainbow Six Siege. That’s right, it appears to be a crossover that we didn’t know we wanted.
In Operation Amber Sky, Ghosts and Operators go through nine new missions to investigate Sentinel further and its plans to manufacture a deadly new gas. When the new operation is officially live, all players need to do is complete the first mission. Once that’s done, players can then deploy Eliza “Ash” Cohen, Mike “Thatcher” Baker, and Lera "Finka" Melnikova, instead of their usual AI teammates. This can be done at any time after the first mission.
So, what are the other new features of this event? For one, it will introduce an interesting survival mechanic. The mechanic adds gas-filled areas where players must wear gas masks to survive, however, it won’t be enough. This is because players must change the filters regularly if they want to survive longer.
Additional new content includes more than 120 new customization items, which can cover full Rainbow Six Siege skins. Players who complete all missions introduced by the event get the chance to unlock 11 unique rewards.
Operation Amber Sky is set to be released as a free update with Title Update 3.10. Know what else? The new event goes live in time for a free weekend. Ghost Recon Breakpoint is downloadable for free from January 21 to 24. It’s available for PC, Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
For those who want to keep playing after the free weekend, don’t wait for it to end. That’s because, during this same free weekend, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available at 85% off. Don’t worry about your progress since they'll be carried over once you purchase the game.
There’s also a free trial that you can get here. If you get the free trial during the free weekend, it’s going to be paused during the promotional period. After that, you can continue the free trial.
