Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege continues to grow even after seven years. The developer, Ubisoft, has announced a new season for the game. Y7S3 Operation Brutal Swarm brings tons of new content, balancing changes, and improvements. Here, we will cover the new operator.
New Operator
The upcoming season is bringing a new Attacking Operator called “GRIM.” He’ll be a member of Night Haven, a splinter group of the Rainbow Team.
GRIM's real name is Charlie Tho Keng Boon, and he is 39 years old and hails from Singapore, and is a skilled Intel-gathering operator.
Weapons and Secondary Gadget
He has access to two primary weapons, namely, 552 Commando Assault Rifle and SG-CQB Shotgun. He only has one secondary weapon, the P229 Handgun. He’ll be able to choose between two secondary gadgets, either select Hard Breach Charge or Claymore.
Main Gadget
The biggest allure of GRIM isn’t his weapons or secondary gadget but his main gadget, the Kawan Hive Launcher, which fires projectiles that releases a swarm of electronic bees. The bees cover a wide area and continuously tag defenders in range. A tagged player will need to move away from the affected area and wait a few seconds to get rid of the bees. This season things will be looking GRIM for defenders. (Did you catch that?)
The projectile can be stopped using Jager’s ADS or Wamai’s Mag-Net system. Mute is also a great counter for the bees. The projectile won’t open up if it’s in range of Mute’s Signal Disruptor. Even if the swarm is released, the bees won’t cover the area that is in range of the jammer. Tagged defenders can also run toward the Jammer to get rid of the bees quickly.
As mentioned above, the new season will also bring many balancing changes to the game. The developer is making big tweaks to several attachments and operators. You can check our previous article to read the pre-season Designer’s Notes.
