The new MUTE Protocol: Flesh and Metal is now live in Rainbow Six Siege. MUTE Protocol: Flesh and Metal is an evolved version of the MUTE Protocol event that was held in 2020. It's set in a neon-infused sci-fi version of the Tower Map. This limited-time event invites players to try out a new gameplay mode known as Arms Race.
In Arms Race, players earn a weapon upgrade for each enemy that they eliminate. However, they regress down the ladder for each instance they die. The goal is to go through each weapon and unlock the Golden Hammer, which is the one at the highest tier. Those able to get the Golden Hammer must hit the large, shielded brain to win the round. The quick respawns and power-ups are just some of the features that make this mode exciting.
Besides the new gameplay mode, this event also comes with new organic cosmetic skins from previous robot-themed cosmetic items in the MUTE Protocol Collection. Uniforms, headgear, weapon skins, and even Operator card portraits are all available in the Collection packs. These packs can be earned through special event challenges or buy them at 300 R6 Credits or 12,500 Renown each.
There is also the Merging Process bundle available in the store offering the following:
- Signature weapon skin
- Universal attachment skin
- Charm
- Operator card background
By the way, individual Operator bundles are available for both the new organic skins and robotic skins that first appeared in 2020. Players who bought those bundles in 2020 get the newly added corresponding Operator card for free.
Six Berlin Major
Just in case you have forgotten, all systems go for the Six Berlin Major from August 15 to August 21. While the Group Stage will be conducted behind closed doors, the Playoffs and Grand Final will be played in front of a live audience at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, Germany.
A total of 16 teams are fighting to get a large part of the $500,000 prize pool and the Global Standings points needed to qualify for the Six Invitational 2023. The teams are:
